Rainbows is for girls aged 5-7. We meet during term time on a Wednesday night 4.45 pm to. 6.00 pm at the village hall.
Brownies is for girls aged 7-10, and the meetings are in Barns Green Village Hall on Wednesdays 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm during term time.

Barns Green Playgroup is a registered charity established in 1978 with the purpose of providing a playgroup setting in the village and welcoming Children from the surrounding areas. We are members of the Preschool Learning Alliance, a national organisation which provides the playgroup with valuable guidance and support. We also receive support from the Early Childhood Services.
Playgroup is run by a voluntary committee of parents and staffed by a team of qualified and experienced childcare practitioners. We adhere to the statutory framework for the early year’s foundation stage and are regularly inspected by Ofsted. We operate from Barns Green Village Hall which has a beautiful setting, looking onto the village green with nearby country walks. Playgroup has its own garden which enables children to enjoy indoor and outdoor activities throughout the year.
Barns Green CC is currently working towards the ECB’s “ClubMark” accreditation which demonstrates that we operate the club to certain minimum standards encompassing equality, safety, codes of conduct, skill development and opportunities for all. If we are successful with this accreditation we should also be able to secure further grant funding for the future development and facilities of the club.
St Nicolas nestles in the beautiful Sussex Weald in the small hamlet of Itchingfield in a designated conservation area.
All are welcome to come to the church either to attend a service or just to find a quiet haven of contemplation. The church is open every day during daylight hours. We are surrounded by our lovely churchyard which provides a rich and varied habitat for the local flora and fauna and a peaceful, reflective space for visitors. It’s a real jewel of God’s creation.

Our main training base is Christ Hospital School and our Club House is Horsham Sports Club. We have over 350 members and a thriving Junior section open to all skill levels.
The 1st Shipley Scout Group was established back in 1934 by the Lees family and in 2009 the group celebrated their 75th anniversary.
1st Shipley Scouts are an active, positive and adventurous bunch based in Dragon’s Green, West Sussex. They are proud to have a scout hut that is one of a kind; transformed from an old Methodist church and the only thatched scout hut in the country. The Group are energetic and enthusiastic in their scouting winning the Sussex Camping Shield many times, on top of various trophies for sports and handicrafts, and raising thousands of pounds for charity. They stick firm to the Scout aims, working together to become strong individuals and responsible citizens, along with reaching their physical, spiritual, intellectual and social potential. Scouting is about so much more than just tents and woggles! We aim to achieve our goals, build confidence, encourage teamwork, learn to make choices and take responsibility.
Barns Green Rugby Football Club was conceived on a cricket tour to Gloucestershire back in 1991. The optimism whipped up by the arrival of the Rugby World Cup to England and the success of Will Carling’s team that year persuaded some past players to combine with some younger souls completely new to the game and an idea for one game progressed to three games, then several seasons of Sunday rugby, before affiliation to the RFU and an entry into the Sussex leagues.
The Barns Green & Itchingfield WI are a friendly group of ladies who meet on the 3rd Thursday afternoon of the month in Barns Green Village Hall at 2:30 pm. We celebrated our 90th anniversary in 2012. The West Sussex Federation WI celebrated its centenary in 2019, with many special events held throughout the county. We enjoy a wide variety of speakers and demonstrations at our monthly meetings, always followed by tea & cake! We enjoy taking part in Craft Events and helping at the Ardingly shows during the year. New members are always welcome. We are an afternoon group and if there was sufficient interest, we would consider forming an evening group.

Barns Green Youth Club continues to thrive with an average attendance of twenty-five young people every week. If you are 11 years and over and haven’t already joined, please come along to the Barns Green Village Hall on Thursday evening at 7.00 pm and try out all the activities on offer. These change weekly and include table tennis, snooker, filmmaking, sumo wrestling and arts and crafts activities such as glass painting, tile printing or card making. There is always something new to try such as juggling and circus skills, cake baking and pancakes.
Barns Green FC is located in Barns Green, West Sussex. A local football team with 2 Adult Teams, and a newly developed Youth Team Championship, Division 5.
